7-Eleven,
Inc. of Dallas, Texas, is voluntarily recalling its Big Eats® Stacked Turkey
and Ham Club on Buttermilk Bread, net weight 7.8 oz, film wrapped and placed in
a sandwich container, manufactured by Forest & Brook, 50 Constance Court,
Hauppauge, NY, and distributed by Constance Food Group, 60 Plant Avenue,
Hauppauge, NY, to 7-Eleven stores in the New York City Metropolitan area and
dated 'Freshest Before Wednesday 11:59PM 12/31/3' because it may be
contaminated with Listeria.
Listeria is a common organism found in nature. It can cause
serious complications for pregnant women, such as stillbirth. Other problems
can manifest in people with compromised immune systems. Listeria can also cause serious
flu-like symptoms in healthy individuals.
7-Eleven
is investigating the issue with its outside manufacturing and distribution
providers to determine the source of Listeria monocytogenes.
No
illnesses have been reported to date.

Lactalis USA Expands Recall
of President Brie Soft-Ripened Cheese Double Cream Green Foil (Herb) or Gold
Foil (Plain) Wedges in Seven and Six-ounce sizes Because of Possible Health Risk

USA of Turlock, CA announced today that it is expanding the original voluntary
recall dated 23 December 2003 of President brie soft-ripened cheese double
cream in green foil (herb) or gold foil (plain) wedges in seven-ounce and
six-ounce wedges because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria
monocytogenes, an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal
infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened
immune systems.
The
recalled President Brie soft-ripened cheese double cream in green foil (herb)
or gold foil (plain) wedges in seven-ounce and six-ounce wedges was distributed
nationwide in retail stores.
Lactalis
USA is expanding the original recall as a safety precaution. No known illnesses
have been associated with this product.
The
product being recalled consists of seven-ounce and six-ounce sizes between the
following lot codes. The lot code can be found on the bottom of the green foil
or gold foil packaging.

Arnold Foods Issues Allergy Alert on Undeclared Dairy and
Soy; Dutch Country Soft Potato Bread Recalled in Southeast US
Arnold
Foods is recalling Dutch Country Soft Potato
Bread from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina,
South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and West Virginia because it may contain
dairy ingredients (non-fat dry milk and sweet whey solids) and soy flour -
potential allergens that are not named on the package ingredients list. There
is no health hazard for people who are not allergic to dairy and soy
ingredients.
The
product has a sell-by date of December 26, 2003 through and including February
3, 2004 printed on the plastic lock-tab bag closure. The product was
distributed between December 15, 2003 to January 21, 2004 to retail stores. The
company is removing all Dutch Country Soft Potato
Bread with the noted code dates from retail stores today.
No
other Arnold or Dutch Country products are affected.
Consumers
with allergies to dairy and soy ingredients who have purchased the product can
return the product to its place of purchase for a full refund or call the
company at 1-800-356-3314 for additional information.
Bindi
North America of Belleville, NJ, is recalling several of its dessert products
because they contain undeclared soy. People who have allergies to soy run the
risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these
products. There is no health risk to people who do not have allergies to soy.
The products that are being recalled are chocolate chip cheesecake, chocolate
ganache cheesecake, chocolate fondant cake, chocolate raspberry fondant cake,
white chocolate mousse cake, and chocolate sorbet.
The
recalled cakes were distributed nationwide in restaurants and in retail stores
in the state of New Jersey. The recalled sorbet was distributed nationwide
through mail order and in Bindi retail stores in the state of New Jersey.
The
cakes come either in 4.69 lb white cardboard boxes, or in clear plastic
containers. The sorbet comes in plastic containers, or in natural cocoa pods
which are wrapped in clear plastic film. All packages that were sold before
January 2004 are affected.
All
cakes that have expiration dates of 1/2005 or later are properly labeled and
are unaffected by this recall. All sorbet plastic containers that have
expiration dates of 09/2005 or later are properly labeled. All sorbet in
natural cocoa pods that have expiration dates of 01/2005 or later are properly
labeled.
Consumers
who have purchased these products may return them to the place of purchase for
