Lake Champlain Chocolates (LCC) is issuing a voluntary product recall for Five Star Fruit & Nut Bars because they may contain undeclared peanuts. 

This lot of Lake Champlain Chocolates Five Star Fruit & Nut Bars, with a weight of 2 ounces and a lot number of 05056 printed on the side of the bar wrapper, was distributed through retail stores in the following states: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Washington DC, and Wisconsin.

FDA Issues Nationwide Alert on SeaSpecialties Brand "Mama’s Smoked Nova Salmon" in 8 Ounce Vacuum Packed Bags Because of Possible Health Risk

FDA is issuing a nationwide alert to consumers about Mama's Smoked Nova Salmon packaged in 8-oz vacuum-packed bags. because they may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, an organism which can be serious and sometimes cause fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

Health Hazard Alert -- Certain President's Choice Baby Food Jars May be Contaminated With Harmful Bacteria

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning the public not to consume certain President's Choice Baby Foods described below.

This recall is being conducted because the seals on some jars have been found to be seriously compromised. The loss of seal may permit the entry of harmful bacteria into the product. While no harmful bacteria have been found in the product, this recall is being conducted as a precautionary measure.

Kraft Issues Recall for Undeclared Pistachios in Jell-O Brand Sugar Free Fat Free Instant Pudding

Kraft Foods of Northfield, IL, is recalling 1.4 oz. Jell-O Brand Sugar Free Fat Free Reduced Calorie Instant Pudding & Pie Filling in White Chocolate with the 05 MAR 07 D8 and 06 MAR 07 D8 code dates, Chocolate with the 06 MAR 07 D8 code date and Chocolate Fudge with the 07 MAR 07 D8 code date because the products may contain pistachio nuts which are not listed in the ingredients on the package. 

Kraft estimates that approximately 148,500 packages of the recalled product were produced. The recalled product has been distributed nationally. The "Best When Used By" code dates are printed on the end flap for the recalled 1.4 oz. Jell-O Brand Sugar Free Fat Free Reduced Calorie Instant Pudding & Pie Filling in White Chocolate with the 05 MAR 07 D8 and 06 MAR 07 D8 code dates, Chocolate with the 06 MAR 07 D8 code date and Chocolate Fudge with the 07 MAR 07 D8 code date.

Ziyad Brothers Issues Nationwide Recall of Tahini Because of Possible Health Risk

  Ziyad Brothers Importing is voluntarily recalling its Ziyad brand Tahini due to possible contamination with Salmonella Senftenberg.  

The product is distributed nationwide and is sold in glass jars 16oz., 32oz., 64oz., and a 128 oz. plastic jar. The product is also sold in 40 pound containers labeled “Tahini 100% Crushed Sesame Seeds Made in Lebanon packed by A.O. Ghandour Sons S.A.L., Distributed by Ziyad Brothers Importing.” There are no lot numbers on the containers.

Production and shipment of the product has been suspended by the Illinois Department of Public Health while the FDA and Ziyad continue their investigation as to the source of the potential problem. 

“Although we do not know if our plain Tahini was contaminated, we are taking the precaution of recalling the product,” said a representative of Ziyad Brothers  Importing.

Kraft Issues Recall for Undeclared Pistachios in Vanilla Flavor Jell-O Brand Sugar Free Fat Free Instant Pudding

Kraft Foods of Northfield, IL, is recalling 1 oz. Vanilla flavor Jell-OBrand Sugar Free Fat Free Reduced Calorie Instant Pudding & Pie Filling with the 05 MAR 07 D8 code date because the product may contain pistachio nuts which are not listed in the ingredients in the package.  The product was distributed in the Midwestern United States.

This recall of the Vanilla flavor is in addition to the previous recall of Jell-O Brand Sugar Free Fat Free Reduced Calorie Instant Pudding and Pie Filling announced April 11, 2005, of 1 oz. White Chocolate with the 05 MAR 07 D8 and 06 MAR 07 D8 code dates, 1.4 oz. Chocolate with the 06 MAR 07 D8 code date and 1.4 oz. Chocolate Fudge with the 07 MAR 07 D8 code date -- all recalled because the products may contain undeclared pistachio nuts.

No other Jell-O products are part of the recall, and there is no health risk for consumers who are not allergic to pistachio nuts.

Kraft estimates that approximately 1,224 packages of the Vanilla flavor product were distributed in the Midwestern United States.
